They can give you some direction to get you started.

If you are not in Rochester, there should a disability rights organization in your area that can help you find resources.

Please keep in touch: we'd like to hear back from you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23192245.post-38599671559683877522008-09-06T06:21:00.000-04:002008-09-06T06:21:00.000-04:00Networking. Whether or not you qualify for official programs, it could be helpful to work with folks who are fighting the same fight. (We have Self-Advocacy groups in our area that people find very supportive.)

Look for help in figuring out what skills would help you in a job you would like and talk to others about how to learn those skills. Sometimes there are formal trainings--other times there are things you can practice.

Talk with your friends and ask them to check with the folks they know about job possibilities. Sometimes networks come up with the best ideas.

I know it is hard and it sounds like you are working really hard to find something. I wish you the best of luck.Terrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14802459265546733391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23192245.post-49472179752913662162008-08-29T13:08:00.000-04:002008-08-29T13:08:00.000-04:00I am 24 years old, who have never have job in my l...I am 24 years old, who have never have job in my life and have a disablity (autism) , who wanted to be Independent. Actually, I had a dream last night, that my son was grown. It was interesting and odd to see him be like, 25. Thankfully we'll grow together!! Anyway, thank you for sharing!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
