Love it, re-posting it too! I have several bloggy pals who are struggling with their feelings about inclusive ed or not. I want them to see it and turn them on to a wonderful resource of inspiration -YOU!
You are too nice! And I want to be above-board here: my daughter was inclusively educated until this year. I loved it and KNOW it was just what she needed. This year was 9th grade and for several reasons specific to my school district at this point we realized that to pursue our goals for an inclusive life for her we needed to take a different step. Our choice is working out well and she is getting many opportunities and is already self-advocating more and behaving more independently... this was a big step and I am glad it is working out AND I would not have done it any sooner. So I believe in inclusion--that is the goal, and we take programs one step at a time... hope this still works for you!
I am adding comment moderation because I have attracted a spammer who thinks advertising sneakers through this blog (on disability issues) is worth their time. You can agree or disagree, but you can't advertise here! So I will be changing things for a bit!
Wow, this was amazing, it made me grin from ear to ear.....and brought me back to the basics that each of us wants; to love and to be loved.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen. I thought so too... and I thought the comment about parents stepping on their children's rights was food for thought.
